Meet Our Team
Erich Bumgardner is a credit risk expert with over 30 years of experience providing credit underwriting, loan review, portfolio and risk management, and predictive modeling. He began his financial services career in commercial credit administration positions, including underwriting, evaluating and approving loan applications. In the early ‘90s, he co-founded and served as a partner for Credit Risk Management LLC. Since 2015, he has served as a managing member of Credit Dynamics and Design LLC, which provides services for credit underwriting, due diligence and loan reviews, and expected credit loss models. In 2020, he started Fintive to develop software applications to support financial institutions more efficiently and effectively. He’s a graduate of NC State University.

Rose Klassen’s expertise is in leading cross-functional teams to design, build and implement software systems. She started her career in the Department of Defense, deploying her skills in analytic development to devise solutions for critical U.S. intelligence problems. Rose later broadened her scope to lead teams working on cutting-edge artificial intelligence networks for Fortune 500 companies as well as developing machine learning systems for the medical industry to detect early cancer indications. In her free time, Rose serves as a NOLS field instructor teaching leadership skills to inner-city youth in the wilderness of Wyoming and as an ambassador for a biotech nonprofit focused on gene therapy.

Charlie Keyes is an engineer and mathematician with over 20 years of experience designing and deploying complex technical systems for the U.S. government, including load sensors for the International Space Station. An alumnus of Harvard University, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He went on to study at Johns Hopkins University, where he earned a Master of Applied Computational Mathematics degree. He completed his post-graduate studies in data science, cybersecurity, and finance.

Jeff Klassen is a full-stack software and DevOps engineer experienced in architecting, building, and delivering cloud-based solutions for the most security conscious organizations. Early in his career, Jeff gained valuable security expertise working as an analyst for the Department of Defense’s elite “Blue Team” (white-hat network security) and later on the Network Threat Operations Center “Ops Floor,” detecting and triaging network threats. Since then, he has leveraged this security experience to develop and deploy applications in the most sensitive environments, including Health Care, Fortune 500 companies and National Security. In his free time, Jeff enjoys rock climbing and learning languages.

Jason Heaton has a decade of experience in banking, financial market analysis, and commercial real estate valuation. He specializes in providing balance sheet advisory, credit underwriting, and due diligence services. He previously worked for a large community bank in positions of progressive responsibility related to credit and treasury, collateral swap book management as well as counterparty credit risk management. He was also a member of the team that managed the Bank’s investment portfolio. His other areas of oversight included asset and liability management, ALCO reporting, cash flow forecasting, and credit analysis for the treasury department. In addition, he is a certified associate commercial real estate appraiser.

Jonathan Weerts has over 25 years of experience in commercial real estate finance, valuation, and underwriting. He has worked for some of the world’s largest banks and private equity funds, managing extensive commercial real estate underwriting and due diligence assignments, as well as underwriting complex loan portfolio acquisitions and dispositions. Jonathan serves as an advisor and collaborator in the ongoing development of Fintive and assists in performing various credit underwriting services for Credit Dynamics and Design, LLC. He is an alumnus of the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where he studied real estate and urban land economics.

Our Mission
Our mission is to provide banks with software to bring efficiency and accuracy to their loan application, processing, and management lifecycle.
The “why” behind our mission is two-fold:
- We want to bring accountability to what is currently an opaque system. Accountability in the decision-making process for who gets a loan and on what terms. We believe that everyone deserves a fair shot to obtain a loan with the correct terms, for them, based on fair and objective criteria.
- We want to play our part to prevent another global financial crisis. Over-lending led to the 2008 crisis, and we believe that Fintive has the capability to keep our country on the right course by providing guide rails. We want people in America, and around the world, to live in prosperity.
